Bespoke Commissions

How Commissioning Works

Commissioning a piece from Awlmark.

A commission is a conversation first, then a design, then a piece cut and stitched by hand over roughly eight weeks. You will know exactly what you are commissioning before any leather is cut. A 50% deposit secures your production slot; the balance is due only when your piece is finished and ready to ship.

The process
  1. 1

    Consultation

A conversation about what you want: piece, leather, colour, hardware, dimensions. No obligation.

  2. 2

    Design

We agree every detail before any leather is cut. You will know exactly what you are commissioning.

  3. 3

    Deposit

A 60% deposit secures your production slot.

  4. 4

    The making

Your piece is cut, stitched, and finished by hand over roughly eight weeks. You receive photographs as it progresses.

  5. 5

    Delivery

Balance on completion. Shipped tracked and insured, with all US duties covered.

Guarantee

Every seam is guaranteed for the life of the piece. If my stitching ever fails you, return it and I will make it right. (Leather colour restoration and specialist spa work are referred to trusted specialists.)

Duties

The price you see is the price you pay. All US import duties and taxes are covered — your piece arrives with nothing more owed.

No stamps but my own.

I make interpretations of classic designs, entirely by hand, under my own name. I do not reproduce logos, boxes, or packaging — if that is what you are looking for, I am not the right maker. What I offer is the object itself: the leather, the stitching, the structure, made honestly and made to last.
