Leathers & Colours
The leathers I work with.
Every piece I make is cut from leather sourced directly from the tannery. I work with a small number of tanneries, each chosen for the consistency of their hide, the character of their finish, and the range of colours they offer.
The leathers below are the ones I use most often. Each has a character of its own — a grain, a hand, a way of patinating with use. I can source others on request.
Tanneries du Puy
Le Puy-en-Velay, France
Epsom calfskin, their signature. Tight, even grain; a hand that is firm but supple. Ages beautifully — develops a rich patina with use. Available in Etoupe, Craie, Rouge H, Noir, and a range of other colours.
Haas
Grossrosseln, Germany
Togo calfskin, their most well-known leather. Soft, supple, with a distinctive grain that is both textured and smooth. Ages with a gentle patina. Available in a wide range of colours including Chai, Anemone, Vert Anglais, and Gris Tourterelle.
Tanneries de Levallois
Levallois-Perret, France
Chevre (goat leather), soft and supple with a fine grain. Available in Gold, Etoupe, and other warm neutrals. Used for smaller pieces where a softer hand is desired.
The colours below are the ones I stock most often. Each tannery offers its own palette, and the same colour name can vary slightly between tanneries. I will send swatches before cutting any leather.
Swatches are placeholders — replace with photographs of physical leather samples when available. Colours are approximate hex values from the tannery's digital palette.
